Health Centre Activities
St. Isabel’s Hospital runs two health centres, one at Kannagi Nagar, Thoraipakkam and another one at Kunnavakam for the Tsunami victims, Kancheepuram District, reaching out to about 12 villages which do not have any other centre for medical help. We also run a weekly mobile clinic at Tharamani; outskirts of Chennai, where about 200-300 patients receive medical help and follow up. From these centers, whenever patients need specialized care, they are treated free of cost at St. Isabel’s Hospital Our Hospital also conducts camps of different specialities for the benefits of the public. It renders free/concessional treatment to patients referred by Charitable foundations like Ekam, Nesakaram, Anbu illam Annai Illam, Banayan etc. Teachers and the students from St. Isabel’s School of Nursing are involved in regular community-based Health Education Awareness programmes on different health issues.
